Hunter Biden Scandal May Ensnare The President

The curtain of media censorship cloaking L'Affaire Hunter Biden is finally being lifted.  For almost two years the legacy media ignored reports about the contents of Hunter's laptop after the New York Post broke the story in 2020.  Social media platforms banned any mention of the emails and videos.

The Post's bombshell report detonated during the final weeks of the presidential election. Much like the Hillary Clinton email kerfuffle, the revelations threatened to derail the Biden presidential run. Democrats needed a way to discredit the politically embarrassing laptop discovery.

Team Biden recruited 51 former U.S. Intelligence officials to label the New York Post story a classic example of Russian disinformation. The media dutifully repeated the lie. The truth is not one of those intelligence chiefs, including former CIA Director John Brennan, ever examined the laptop.

Despite the coverup, more media outlets authenticated the laptop belonged to Hunter.  Politico, Fox News and a handful of others exposed the contents, which painted a tawdry picture of Hunter and contained clues the president knew more than he has admitted publicly about his son's deals.

In March,  The New York Times and The Washington Post belatedly ran stories about the trove of documents on Hunter's foreign deals.  The Twin Temples of Babble downplayed the significance of the details and reported they found no evidence Joe Biden knew about his son's deals.

Apparently, they didn't look. The propaganda organs for the Democrats patted themselves on the backs and buried the matter. The fact both outlets corroborated the laptop's authenticity may seem shocking, but the liberal indoctrination voices are signaling there will be no more laptop coverage.

This is a strategy orchestrated by the White House to inoculate the president once Republicans take control of the House in the mid-terms. Likely-Speaker Mike McCarthy has promised to launch an investigation into Hunter's dealings.

The president and his press secretary will claim it is old news.  The GOP is conducting a witch hunt. Nothing to see.  However, storm clouds are hovering over the Biden family. A federal grand jury is investigating Hunter over allegations of money laundering, fraud and foreign lobbying.

Delaware U.S. Attorney David C. Weiss leads the probe. His boss is the president's Attorney General Merrick Garland, who has demonstrated he marches to White House orders. As a result, expect Hunter to receive a slap on the wrist and a fine before the mid-terms.  Case closed.

In anticipation of such an outcome, about 100 House Republicans dispatched a letter to Garland urging him to appoint a special counsel to remove the appearance of undue influence. Democrats used this same justification for the appointment of Special Counsel Robert Mueller to probe President Trump.

There is good reason for the GOP to suspect administration officials will stomp their feet on the scales of justice.  Hunter was under investigation by the Department of Justice for tax evasion for more than a year.  Last year he quietly paid $1 million in back taxes.

The DOJ kept the probe under wraps.  There were no public details about how much Hunter owed.  Was this a partial settlement?  Did it include fines?  This is how justice works under the current Democrat administration. The Bidens are protected.  But those pesky laptop emails won't go away.

Details of the emails are leaking every day suggesting the president not only was aware of his son's deals but may have used his influence to gain access for Hunter to the inner circles of business chieftains through his relationships with leaders in China and Ukraine.

Hunter's laptop contains a collection of incriminating documents and emails detailing schemes with foreign entities that doled out millions of dollars to gain access to then VP Joe Biden. Authenticated emails confirm Hunter's father attended dinners with foreign investors and business partners.

In addition, there are photographs of the president with Hunter's investors and partners.  The two jetted to China aboard Air Force Two where the president met with his son's business associates involved in deals to enrich Hunter. That's why the president's claims of "no knowledge "are ludicrous.

One email shows then VP Biden penned a letter of recommendation to Brown University on behalf of Hunter's Chinese business partner's son, Chris Li.  Hunter's firm Rosemont Seneca was at the time involved with Chinese investment firms Bohai Capital and BHR.

The Washington Post documented that the Communist Party-controlled CEFC energy giant paid $4.8 million to entities connected to Hunter over an 18 month period prior to Joe Biden's announcement that he was running for president.   Coincidence or influence peddling?

Another email on Hunter's laptop dispels the notion that Joe Biden was a bystander and not a participant in his son's business affairs.  In the 2017 email sent to a Washington office manager, Hunter asks to "have keys made for new office mates: Joe Biden, Jill Biden and Jim Biden."

Emails reveal that Hunter planned to also share the space with an "emissary" for the chairman of the Chinese energy company, CEFC. The so-called emissary represents Ye Jianming, the chairman of CEFC. Yet President Biden expects voters to believe he never spoke with Hunter about business deals.

Despite the mounting evidence, President Biden clings to his tattered, old answer on all subjects Hunter: 'I love my son and I knew nothing about this dealings and never spoke to him about the matter.'

Democrats often complain there are two systems of justice.  They actually are right.  There is one system for Democrats and one for Republicans. Powerful Democrats always manage to escape justice. Will this be another example?  Don't bet against it.

Hunter's Deals Complicate Relations With China

A New York Times explosive report detailing Hunter Biden's dealings with Chinese partners may eventually prove the undoing of Biden's presidency.  The newspaper's findings are just the latest in a string of lucrative deals the president's son engineered by piggy-backing on his influential father.

The bombshell details in the Times represent a shocking about-face for the newspaper, which has swaddled the president in fawning coverage since his election. The Times, which dug into every aspect of Mr. Trump's debunked connections with Russia, had shown no interest in Hunter's ties with China.

Does the Times story signal a seismic shift in the media scrutiny of Mr. Biden?

The answer is a resounding No!  CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS, NBC and other mainstream parasites ignored the Times reporting. There is nothing to see here, their newsrooms concluded.  Imagine if Donald Trump Jr. had struck a deal with the Russians.  Would the media wink and look the other way?

In its account, the Times describes how the president's son was a founding board member of a firm that facilitated a Chinese company's purchase of an American company's cobalt mine, located in the Democratic Republic of Congo.  It is one of the richest cobalt mines in the world.

In the deal, China Molybdenum (CM) purchased the mine for $2.65 billion in 2016 from Phoenix-based Freeport-McMoRan Inc. A Shanghai firm, Bohai Harvest (BHR) Equity Investment Management Company, sold its minority stake to CM for $1.14 billion.  Hunter Biden served on the BHR board.

A lawyer for Hunter initially claimed he "no longer holds any interest" in Communist-backed BHR.  However, Chinese business records show Hunter held a 10% stake in the Chinese private equity firm BHR through his company, Skaneateles LLC.

Skaneateles, registered in Washington D.C., was hatched on July 18, 2008.  Hunter Biden is listed as the sole executive officer, according to OpenCorporate, a public data source.  The limited liability corporation was dissolved on September 2, 2021, a couple months before the Times story broke.

For the benefit of Democrats, who believe every negative story about Mr. Biden is part of some vast right wing conspiracy, here are the key paragraphs lifted directly from the the liberal Times report:

"The three Americans, all of whom served on the board, controlled 30 percent of BHR, a private equity firm registered in Shanghai that makes investments and then flips them for profit.  The rest of the company is owned or controlled by Chinese investors that include the Bank of China, according to records filed with Chinese regulators."

"But BHR's role in the Chinese mine purchase was not a major focus (during the 2020 election.) It has taken on new relevance because the Biden Administration warned this year that China might use its growing dominance of cobalt to disrupt America's retooling of its auto industry to make electric vehicles. The metal is among key ingredients in electric car batteries."

The deal potentially could compromise the president's dealings with China.  There is no doubt Hunter Biden benefited financially from his cozy relationship with the Chinese, including the 100% Communist controlled Bank of China.  The only remaining question is: How much did President Biden know?

The president's apologist, Jen Psaki, defended Mr. Biden by repeating the clumsy excuse that her boss knows nothing about his son's foreign business dealings.  Only the most naive Democrat partisan would believe such tripe.  Psaki's claim is fiction, not factual.

There have been numerous media reports about Hunter's overseas deals in the last five years and a Senate Committee probe.  Does no one in the administration, including Psaki, inform the president of these developments?  Or is the president clueless? Come on, man.

In 2015, then Chairman of the Senate Finance Committee Chuck Grassley called for scrutiny of Hunter's joint venture with the same Chinese investment entity (BHR) after a transaction to purchase an American automotive technology company with potential military applications.

The deal breezed through U.S. approvals, prompting Sen. Grassley to inquire whether the Obama-Biden administration intervened in the process. China's government Aviation Industry Corporation teamed with BHR to buy Henniges Automotive, a producer of high-tech, anti-vibration components for cars.

The $600 million acquisition gave the Chinese aviation firm a 51% stake in the business and direct control of the anti-vibration technology.  In 2007, this same Chinese government aviation company was reportedly involved in stealing sensitive data about the new U.S. Strike Fighter program.

Despite the conflicts, Hunter and BHR passed muster with the Obama administration's Committee on Foreign Investment.  But wait there's more.  Secretary of State John Kerry's department signed off, too. Well, look at this.  Kerry's stepson was a partner with Hunter in BHR investment at the time.

Hunter has shamelessly exploited his father's role to enrich himself. But of course, then Vice President Biden claimed in 2015 he had no idea his son was involved with the Chinese Communist government. Yeah, that's right.  Believe it. See there is no conflict of interest here. What influence peddling?

In 2013, Hunter accompanied his father aboard Air Force Two to Beijing. The Vice President was on official government business. Hunter hopped a ride on the U.S, government plane with his daughter. Official government records document the trip.

Ten days after he left, China issued Hunter a license to do business in the Communist country. Within three weeks, Hunter's firm inked a private equity deal with the Communist Chinese controlled Bank of China.  That was the birth of BHR, an investment vehicle orchestrated by the Chinese.

NBC News reported the following about the junket: "Throughout the weeklong trip, Hunter Biden seemed to duck in and out, sometimes joining his father at events and red-carpet ceremonies, and at other times, following his own itinerary, presumably with his daughter Finnegan."

Communists view investments as a way to gain influence, particularly when a key participant is the son of the U.S. Vice President.  Did Mr. Biden have no idea about the appearance of impropriety of such a deal?  He ushered Hunter into the waiting arms of China under the imprimatur of the U.S. government.

Apparently it never dawned on Mr. Biden, if you believe his version of the events. Americans are supposed to dumb enough to believe Hunter just rode along on Air Force Two on some sight seeing junket to Shanghai and somehow stumbled into a sweetheart investment deal. How lucky is Hunter?

An investigation, overseen by GOP Senators Ron Johnson and Chuck Grassley, produced an exhaustive  report illuminating the potential conflicts of interest arising from Hunter Biden's deals, including those with Chinese firms.  The report, issued September 23, 2020, spurred little media interest.

The report is a joint effort between the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs and the Senate Committee on Finance.  The report, available online, contains dates, financial details and Chinese firms linked to deals with Hunter.

The report's staff uses Secret Service records to document that Hunter Biden scheduled at least six trips to China.  Hunter received Secret Service protection in January 2009 after Joe Biden's election as Vice President. On these trips, he became involved in a series of deals with Chinese partners.

One such lucrative arrangement was with Chinese firm CEFC Infrastructure Investment, a foreign  limited liability company registered in New York.  The firm is a subsidiary of CEFC China Energy Corporation, which received funding from the state-owned China Development Bank.

Ye Jianming, who runs the investment arm, joined with Hunter in what turned out to be a financial bonanza for the president's son and other members of the Biden family.   CEFC Infrastructure Investment formed another limited liability company, Hudson West III, the report revealed.

Hudson then collateralized a $99,000 line of credit with Cathay Bank. Hunter, the president's brother James, and his wife Sara, were authorized users of credit cards associated with the  account. The trio ran up credit card debts of $101,291.46 on airline tickets, hotels, restaurants and purchases at Apple Stores.

During 2018, the report cites evidence that Hunter Biden's law firm, Owasco, moved large sums of money to relatives. Between August 14, 2017 and August 3, 2018, Owasco sent 20 wires totaling $1,398,999 to the Lion Hall Group, a consulting firm that lists James and his wife Sara as partners.

In addition, Hudson West II  paid $4,790,375.25 in consulting fees to Hunter's law firm, Owasco, in a single year. Records turned over to the Senate committee indicate Hunter was compensated for market research on a natural gas project, that was later scrapped.

Former President Trump was tortured by the media for three years about his collusion with Russia. Evidence from indictments by special prosecutor John Durham point to a fake dossier, manufactured by Russians, financed by Hillary Clinton and promoted by a corrupt FBI.

(Democrats are screaming: "Yeah, but Mr. Biden didn't start an insurrection," as if this justifies behavior that has the appearance of a quid-pro-quid deal for his son who hobnobbed with Chinese government officials while he was in Shanghai with his father.)

What if the real collusion is between Hunter Biden and China?  Have his profitable deals influenced President Biden in his dealings with the Communists on issues such as climate change, the Coronavirus origin or China's threats to Taiwan?  The Chinese only dole out millions expecting something in return.

The Democrat controlled House and Senate will never snoop into Biden family deals. Washington's interest level may escalate if Republicans reclaim the House in the mid-terms.  Since Democrats appear infatuated with impeachments, they may regret their obsession if the next one claims one of their own.

Joe Biden: His Son And The Ukraine Oligarch

Democrats accused President Trump of a quid-pro-quid deal with Ukraine in a veiled move to distract media attention from a controversy engulfing Joe Biden and his son Hunter.  Details continue to emerge about the son's involvement with a Ukrainian oligarch's corruption-plagued gas company.

The former vice president and Democratic Party presidential candidate initially shooed away reporters asking questions about his son's questionable activities and the apparent conflict of interest.  The stonewalling ended when Biden was finally prodded into publicly proclaiming to the media:

"I have never spoken to my son about his overseas business dealings."  However, Biden is on shaky ground based on credible information in the public domain.

To set the stage, President Obama appointed the vice president his "point person" on Ukraine in February of 2014.  From 2014-2017, he made five trips to the Ukraine in his official capacity as vice president as Russian aggression escalated tensions in the Eastern European country.

During the diplomatic shuttling, Biden's son with two business partners were deep in discussions about a deal with the scandal ridden natural gas firm Burisma Holdings.  One of Hunter's partners, Devon Archer, arranged for a meeting with the elder Biden on April 16, 2015 at the White House.

Official White House records show the meeting lasted until 11:59 p.m.  There are no details on the subject of the discussion.  However, less than a week after their chitchat Archer was invited to join the Burisma board  Three weeks later Hunter Biden became a board member, too.

It is not credible to think the vice president knew nothing about his son's Ukraine dealings after the meeting with Hunter's business partner, especially given the timing of the appointments to the Burisma board.  Unless of course, they just talked about grandchildren.  (Sarcasm intended.)

After the board appointments, Burisma touted its newest member, Hunter Biden.  It prominently mentioned he was the vice president's son.  His official role, as vaguely described by Burisma, was to provide "consulting" for the company on "various matters" and to offer "strategic guidance."

Even while the younger Biden had been negotiating with Burisma, the natural gas company was the subject of an investigation into suspected fraud. Great Britain's Serious Fraud Office froze assets of Burisma as part of a money laundering probe.  The assets were later unfrozen when Ukraine sued.

This wasn't the only brush with controversy for Burisma.  It had been suspected of corruption both inside Ukraine and by the United States.  The secretive company's founder Mykola Zlochevsky was also the subject of official Ukrainian inquiries, including for tax evasion.

None of this appeared to matter to Hunter Biden.  Bank records from 2014 and 2015 show Hunter Biden was personally paid more than $850,000.  Burisma does not release compensation details for board members, but the records were uncovered in U.S. litigation into an unrelated case.

Seneca Partners LLC, which included Biden and his two associates, received regular transfers of usually more than $166,000 per month during the 2014-2015 period, according to the same banking records cited above.  These payments came under scrutiny by the Ukraine's general prosecutor.

It was reported that the prosecutor had made plans to "include interrogations and other crime-investigation procedures into all members of the executive board, including Hunter Biden." Both Hunter Biden and the former vice president have declined to comment on this allegation.

This is where the story about the vice president's unawareness of his son's business dealings begins to crumble.   In March of 2016, Biden addressed a public meeting of the U.S. Council on Foreign Relations, bragging how he had bullied Ukrainian officials into firing the general prosecutor.

Biden described in detail as news cameras rolled how he threatened to pull $1 billion in U.S. loan guarantees if Ukraine didn't immediately fire Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin.  In Biden's own words, here is what he remembered telling Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko in March 2016:

"I am going to be leaving here in I think about six hours....If the prosecutor is not fired, you're not getting the money," he recalled telling Poroshenko.  "Well, son of a bitch, he got fired.  And they put in place someone who was solid at the time."

There was one tiny fact Biden omitted.  The prosecutor who was summarily fired was leading a far ranging corruption probe into the natural gas company Burisma Holdings, which employed his son as a board member.  And there is more proof that the elder Biden had to know what was happening.

A New York Times article on December 8, 2015, appeared four months before the firing of the general prosecutor and included information about Hunter Biden's role in Burisma.  Biden's office was quoted as acknowledging that the younger Biden was indeed a Burisma board member.

Bloomberg News recently reported the following: "Joe Biden has said that he's never spoken with his son about his foreign business dealings.  Hunter told the New Yorker earlier this year that he once touched on Ukraine obliquely.  "Dad said, 'I hope you know what you are doing' and I said, "I do."

There is no better example of a possible quid-pro-quid arrangement between a top U.S. official and a foreign government than this case.  The former vice president has publicly admitted he threatened to withhold U.S. foreign aid if a Ukrainian prosecutor was not dismissed.

Joe Biden has skated around this issue by repeatedly claiming he was clueless about his son's business dealings.  Now it is time for the Department of Justice to open an official inquiry to determine if the former veep used his office and American aid to spare his son from prosecution.

There is far more evidence in the public record about influence peddling by Joe Biden than the thin accusations against Mr. Trump for his discussion with the Ukraine president about Hunter Biden. The media and Democrats can no longer cover up for the Democratic Party presidential candidate.

It would  be ironic if the Democrats pursuit of the Ukraine connection with Mr. Trump would instead force the party of impeachment to reconsider the candidacy of Joe Biden, whose interference in a foreign country's justice system weakens his chances in the presidential race.
